Zodiac Collages
I’ve always been really interested in collage art, dating all the way back to my middle school art teacher’s huge filing cabinets of magazine and book clippings for paper collage. Then more recently, when I got into digital illustration, I discovered the joys of digital collage. No more sore hands from clipping dozens of images and text from old periodicals with scissors and x-acto knives, no more sticky glue and adhesives, no more filing cabinet needed! The newfound ability to position and reposition graphics over and over and over again with just an Undo button! I couldn’t get enough.
I’m not as into astrology as a lot of people are these days, but I do seem to fit my sign (Leo!) to a T, which always interested me. I don’t know about moon charts or the finer points of the subject, but I like reading about the different meanings of the zodiac signs. Each sign has certain corresponding traits and objects, mostly agreed upon across sources, and I kept these in mind as I created my digital zodiac collages.
